Designer Bruno Pieters was inspired by the seascapes of Wolfgang Uhlig, whose photographs are usually composed only of sea meeting sky. Pieters' experimental tailoring reflected that in its minimalism, linearity, horizontal striping and a palette that was sometimes misty, sometimes crisp. The lengths of jackets, trousers and shorts rose and fell like tides. A few jackets had been partially submerged in brass paillettes—a bit of excitement in an otherwise repetitive lineup. But perhaps repetition, like the rhythms of the sea, was the point.
