The first look - a white T-shirt and blue jeans - announced the substance of Wallace Faulds' debut collection: wearable basics. Newly arrived from John Galliano, Faulds delved into the C.P. archives and came up with a silhouette reminiscent of “Miami Vice” with tapered trousers, loose tailoring and breezy, seaside styling. Employing the company's color capabilities, he developed deep and beguiling aubergines and aquas. And while he kept the signature goggle jacket in place, he forged ahead with a trendier sensibility.
