Giorgio Armani titled his very focused Emporio Armani show “Green Town” to underline to the earthy, countrified flavor of the collection, still grounded in smart, city tailoring. The designer proposed a striking new trouser silhouette with pleats and a high waist, typically paired with shorter-length blazers in rustic and plush fabrics. Tweed caps and loden and shearling coats heightened the sense of ease with nature. Apart from some velvet shawls and a massive fur poncho, styling quirks were kept to a minimum. In contrast to the low-tech mood of the main collection, the EA7 portion of the show was dedicated to performance apparel and gear for the extreme sport of snowbike, a racy blend of motocross and snowboarding.
