For his first New York presentation, Philip Stephens, who has previously shown in London, took to the Maritime Hotel’s rooftop for a runway/tableau hybrid featuring looks inspired by those angelic, honeymooning hippies, John and Yoko. Filmy silk georgettes, such as a tiered and tasseled gown, made for a fresh take on the serene Seventies peacenik. And if you had a half hour to kill (note to Stephens: presentations should be in-and-out), a wardrobe change yielded some streetwear ensembles.
