Alexander McQueen’s exquisite Anglo-Indian reverie offered a romantic antidote to the aggressive chic at Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent. Meanwhile, Miuccia Prada’s shockingly austere black lace made a case for control. On the accessories front, outsize, directional jewelry was the emergent trend.
