The Venice International Film Festival, held from Aug. 29 to Sept. 8, takes place on Lido, an island reef off the coast of northeastern Italy. Thus the event’s crowd is far from accidental and is often more a scene of journalists, producers and TV types than celebrities and those seeking their autographs. It seemed that the pensive-looking group just so happened to look effortlessly terrific — even in the pouring rain, when a lucky few were stylishly prepared.
