West Nanjing Road has consolidated its reputation as Mainland China’s premier shopping street with the opening of the Jing An Kerry Centre, home to new stores from Paul Smith and Michael Kors, as well as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Burberry and other popular brands.
Denim appeared to be a favorite look here, with distressed versions featured heavily as both tight-fitting jeans and, more often, skimpy cutoffs. Denim shirts, dresses and jackets were also popular, along with bright florals, pastels, white lace dresses and colorful sneakers. There was a decidedly Western feel to the chicer, more restrained skirts with simple little tops and an Asian sensibility in the long, floaty fare.
