NEW DIGS: Italian accessories label Zagliani opened the doors of its spectacular showroom, located in a 17th century palazzo in the heart of Milan, last week to launch “Atelier,” a bespoke service allowing the luxury brand’s customers to order customized bags. “The core brand value is personal and everything we do is handmade and unique,” said Zagliani creative director Giorgia Scarpa, who will guide Atelier customers in the creation of their own bags. Customers will be able to choose among 12 styles, plus four men’s shapes, and a wide range of materials, including 28 types of crocodile, 20 versions of python, and six kinds of both lizard and ostrich. Different linings will be also available, along with gold letters to decorate the bags. Zagliani will deliver the purses in about two months. Prices will range from 2,100 euros, or $2,800 at current exchange rate, for a clutch to about 50,000 euros, or $66,656, for a crocodile large men’s case.
The Atelier service, which is currently available in Milan only, will be soon expanded to other countries. Zagliani will organize events worldwide creating temporary Atelier rooms and will dedicate a special section to the project on the company’s Web site, which is set to launch in January.
Zagliani, which was acquired by the Labelux Group in September 2009, sells in stores icluding Barneys New York, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Isetan, Luisa Via Roma, Aishti and TSUM.
