THE INN PLACE: French contemporary brand Zadig & Voltaire took over a gutted private mansion on the Left Bank to stage its debut catwalk presentation at Paris Fashion Week. Founder and owner Thierry Gillier revealed the space would house the brand’s first hotel, due to open in 2014.

“This was a project dear to our hearts,” he said. “It will be a slightly private hotel, not open to everybody, with 40 rooms. We are going to select guests. It won’t be open to busloads of tourists, for example. There is a lot of demand in Paris — many people are looking for quiet hotels with a certain privacy.”

Zadig & Voltaire, which usually shows its collection by appointment, this time had models parade at regular intervals on a small raised catwalk framed by brightly colored Plexiglas sheets. Mingling among guests were Camille Rowe and Poppy Delevingne, who front the brand’s ready-to-wear and perfume campaigns, and newly recruited brand ambassadors Tallulah Harlech and Sophia Hesketh.
