YUMMIE WINS MOTION: The Northern District Court of Georgia on Tuesday ruled in favor for Times Three Clothier LLC and its Yummie Tummie lifestyle brand to transfer its patent infringement complaint against Spanx Inc. to the Southern District Court of New York. TTC and its president and founder Heather Thomson are headquartered there, while Spanx and its owner and founder Sara Blakely are based in Atlanta.
WWD reported exclusively in March that a legal dispute was shaping up between the two high-powered women entrepreneurs over the validity of patents for shapewear products owned by Thomson, who claims that Blakely knocked off several patented control tops.
