FEMALE STATE: Yves Saint Laurent, with a longstanding tradition of empowering women, is donating funds to the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). This Christmas, a sizable donation will be made to the fund in the names of almost 1,000 of its top clients and associates, with the sponsorship extending into 2009. UNIFEM’s programs are aimed at reducing poverty, violence and HIV/AIDS, as well as ensuring gender equality, in the developing world.
