Yohji Yamamoto Scents to Relaunch

Dormant for about six years, the designer’s fragrance label should spring to life in June.

SLEEPING BEAUTY: After lying dormant for six years, Yohji Yamamoto Parfums is springing back to life. Six of the designer’s former fragrances are set re-launch, starting in about June, it was revealed during a press conference in Paris on Friday evening.


The introduction will begin with scents including Yohji Yamamoto Homme, Yohji Essential and Yohji Senses in markets such as the U.K., France, Germany, Japan, Ukraine and Russia.


Two new Yamamoto fragrances, developed by Givaudan perfumer Olivier Pescheux, are also in the pipeline and should be out by the end of this year, according to Paul Christie, chief executive officer of Yohji YamamotoParfums, whose license is held by IFD Group.
