WHAT’S IN STORE: The flagship Saint Laurent boutique on Avenue Montaigne in Paris is to close for renovation in August — only three months after opening its doors — WWD has learned. According to sources, the black concrete floor is among elements that designer Hedi Slimane, the mastermind of the new marble-heavy retail concept, wishes to alter. A YSL spokesman said the company chose to open ahead of men’s fashion week and couture week in Paris — which fell in late June and early July — to “introduce the new architectural concept and the new collections,” and that “August’s typically calmer pace allowed for an opportunity to finalize and perfect the space for the beginning of the season.”
