THE FUTURE OF PRINT?: If there’s no paper and no ink, is it still a magazine? Not that Visionaire considers itself a mere magazine per se, but for its 63rd edition — titled “Forever” — the publication has forgone traditional print mediums entirely, working with CGI artists to transform 2D photographs into 3D reliefs that were then pounded into 9 x 12-inch embossed metal plates. They’re branding the issue “indestructible” and have conveniently partnered with G-Shock, the self-proclaimed “Toughest Watch in the World.” The issue, which launches May 11 with a party co-hosted by G-Shock, comes package din an all-metal case with 10 embossed “pages,” which include a Kate Moss image by Mario Testino, Lady Gaga as captured by Inez & Vinoodh, Baptiste Giabiconi by Karl Lagerfeld, and so on.
