HOLIDAY ROBBERY: Vionnet owner Goga Ashkenazi was robbed in Barra de Maldonado, Uruguay, where she spent the holidays with her boyfriend, Lapo Elkann. As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica, some thieves sneaked into the holiday house rented by the couple and stole 17 pieces of jewelry estimated to be worth about 3.5 million euros, or $4.6 million at current exchange rates, along with about 25,000 euros, or $33,000, in cash.
Ashkenazi and Elkann were at home with friends during the break-in but they said to the local police that they didn’t realize intruders had entered their home.
