HOT WHEELS: It took Victoria Beckham less than three years to convince the world that she wasn’t just some flash-in-the-pan celebrity designer. Now she’s taking on autos: On Thursday Beckham was named creative design executive at Range Rover, starting with the special edition Range Rover Evoque model. “Victoria understands luxury products. She is a Range Rover fan and has been a Range Rover owner for many years,” said Land Rover and Range Rover design director Gerry McGovern.

COLE PORTER: Donning her eco designer cap, Lily Cole will help kick off Paris couture week on Monday with the launch of her The North Circular knitwear label at Colette. The model co-designs the line with fellow British model Katherine Poulton; knitwear designer Isobel Davies, who runs her own sheep sanctuary in Yorkshire, and Central Saint Martins-trained designer Alice Ashby. Windows will be by Russian fashion designer Vika Gazinskaya.

NEW DUDS: U.S. soccer hero Landon Donovan needed to look good for his stint on the talk-show circuit. So after getting off the plane from the World Cup in South Africa, he visited the Joseph Abboud showroom and picked up some lightweight suits and sportswear for his marathon press rounds. First was the “Late Show With David Letterman,” followed by MTV, where he wore a two-button silk-blend Profile suit. Next up were the morning shows — “Today,” “Good Morning America” and “The Early Show” — where he opted for a seersucker blazer. “Live With Regis and Kelly” was treated to a vest and sport shirt, skinny tie and embossed crocodile belt, while he dressed back up in a navy suit for a visit to the New York Stock Exchange.

DON’T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE: The Hollister flagship in New York’s SoHo has been closed since Wednesday due to bedbugs, which have been a problem in different areas of the city. Hollister officials believe the infestation has been confined to one or two back-room areas, which they detected early, and they have been investigating to confirm that no merchandise has bedbugs or that any goods were sold with the bugs. Hollister is located at 600 Broadway, on the corner of Broadway and Houston Street. The store is expected to reopen in a few days.

BIRDS OF A FEATHER: Continuing her collaboration with Cointreau, Dita Von Teese plans to unveil a new pop-up members club in Paris’ Montmartre district this fall, where her signature cocktail — made with orange-flavored liqueur, apple juice, lemon juice and violet syrup — will be flowing liberally. Cointreau Privé is to open on the cabaret performer’s birthday, Sept. 29, for one month and be decorated by the buxom beauty. “There will be lots of Swarovski crystals and feathers,” said Von Teese, who also expressed ambitions to create a perfume line modeled after her own personal style.
