VELVET REVOLUTION: After more than 15 years in business, Velvet by Graham & Spencer is taking its first step into retail. The contemporary T-shirt brand is slated to open a 1,500-square-foot store in April at 13020 San Vicente Blvd. in Los Angeles adjacent to the Brentwood Country Mart. Working with architecture firm Johnston Marklee, Velvet intends the store to be an open airy loft with a clean, industrial aesthetic. The store will carry both men’s and women’s styles priced from $50 to $350. Velvet is currently available in about 1,200 stores worldwide, including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus.
