SECURITY DETAILS: Uniqlo is giving the security staff at the Museum of Modern Art a makeover.
Continuing its partnership with MoMA, Uniqlo designed new uniforms that feature the Japanese brand’s innovative clothing technology and designs. The uniforms were developed with improved function and style and tailored to the seasons to make the security staff more comfortable. The staff begins wearing them today.
Security will also wear Uniqlo’s AIRism and Heattech innerwear under their uniforms in warm and cold weather. AIRism’s comfort-enhancing features include moisture absorption, anti-odor and heat release to help stay cool and dry, while Heattech retains heat, is fast absorbing and controls odors.
Uniqlo in March teamed with MoMA to present SPRZ NY or Surprise New York, a collection of modern art-inspired fashion products. SPRZ NY, an ongoing collection of T-shirts and more, features mainstay artists, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, who are always represented in the collection. Items designated MoMA Special Edition are based on works by these artists from the museum’s collection and new designs made in collaboration with living artists. Uniqlo in July 2013 became a multi-year corporate sponsor of MoMA, supporting the Museum’s Friday night free admission program—now Uniqlo Free Friday Nights—which provides free access for the public to the museum and all exhibitions from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every Friday, throughout the year.
