Uniqlo Jumps on the 'Punk' Bandwagon

The fast-fashion retailer will hold a launch event in San Francisco to celebrate the release of the UT collection.

ON THE BANDWAGON: It’s not just the Metropolitan Museum of Art that has embraced punk rock. Uniqlo has also jumped on board.

On May 16, the fast-fashion retailer will hold a launch event in San Francisco to celebrate the release of the UT collection, a limited-edition series of T-shirt collaborations for men and women focused on iconic artists, designers, musicians and photographers including the Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. The event will be hosted by designer Keanan Duffty, who is currently producing a documentary about Malcolm McLaren and is senior director of merchandising at the Academy of Art University, School of Fashion in San Francisco.

The T-shirts retail starting at $12.99 to $19.99 and will be available in stores and online until mid-June.
