Gucci Hosts Worldwide Store Managers’ Meeting

About 700 employees from 47 different countries joined ceo Patrizio di Marco at the Casellina plant in Tuscany to see the company’s production facilities.

TRAINING DAY: Gucci’s third worldwide store managers’ meeting was held Tuesday. About 700 employees from 47 different countries joined Gucci president and chief executive officer Patrizio di Marco at the Casellina plant in Tuscany to see the company’s production facilities and have a taste of its artisanal craftsmanship. Today, the store managers will move to Rome, where they will spend the rest of the week involved in a series of training activities.

In line with Gucci’s focus on sustainability, the event was organized to have zero impact on the environment. In order to compensate the six-day meeting’s carbon emissions, Gucci financed a project for the creation of a hydroelectric power station in China, which will provide energy to the people living in the country’s southwestern regions. In addition, Gucci teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund, buying postcards for a total amount of 3,000 euros, or $3,970 at current exchange, to adopt the giant panda.
