BEEP BEEP: A steady stream of cars pulling up to valet parking at the Joule hotel Thursday evening signaled the return of Traffic Los Angeles’ women’s store to Main Street in Dallas. “I’m gonna hope this time there will be no fires so we’ll be open for a while,” said Michael Moldovan, co-owner.
The shop debuted in August, but smoke damage from a December electrical fire right outside the door ruined the clothing and forced a temporary closure. “It’s all good,” added his wife and business partner, Sarah. “The insurance company took all the merchandise.”
A percentage of sales at the reopening benefited the Dallas Contemporary, so supporters came out to shop, including Joyce Goss and her brother-in-law, Kenny Goss, Jo Marie Lilly, Peter Doroshenko, and Joanne Teichman with her daughter, Alysa.
Traffic has also signed up as a sponsor of DIFFA Dallas’s annual runway show and fundraiser slated for March 29.
The Moldovans mixed up the merchandise a bit, adding Carbon & Hyde fine jewelry, one-of-a-kind dresses by Cesar Arellanes and sporty styles by Drifter, among others. Other vendors in the hip boutique include Iro, Kenzo, Mason, Antonio Berardi, Cher., Michel Klein and Isabel Marant Étoile.
