Topshop and Topman will make their flagship debut in Canada this week at The Bay Yorkdale in Toronto. The store, which opens Wednesday, has 15,000 square feet of selling space over two floors at The Bay, the Canadian department store owned by Hudson’s Bay Company. “The Yorkdale store is a fantastic space and represents another step in our international growth,” said Sir Philip Green, owner of Topshop’s parent, Arcadia Group. Bonnie Brooks, president and chief executive of The Bay, said she was bringing a “U.K. fashion landmark home to Canadians,” and added there were plans to roll out more Topshop stores across Canada in the near future. To prepare for the launch, Topshop had opened a string of pop-up stores in downtown Toronto over the summer, and launched capsule collections at The Bay stores in Vancouver and Calgary this fall. The Toronto flagship will stock Topshop’s core line, an edited version of its runway collection Unique and clothing collaborations with London-based designers Simone Rocha and Michael Van Der Ham.
