For spring, designer Naomi Yamamoto of Tiny Dinosaur decided to forego the traditional runway show, and instead collaborated with two other brands on a joint exhibition and short fashion show in Tokyo on Tuesday. In what they dubbed The Contra Show, the designers took their bow first, after which models walked the runway backwards starting from the end. As they went, they removed and replaced on shelves accessories such as jewelry and objects by Aquvii and necklaces and planters by On Za Line, before finally stripping down to their slips in front of a full-length mirror at the top of the runway. The show kicked off a two-day exhibition at the Tokyo Midtown complex, during which time the three brands will be showing their new collections to press and buyers.
