THIEVES STRIKE AGAIN: The Franck Muller boutique in Milan’s Via della Spiga was robbed again Tuesday, only three months after thieves broke into the store the first time. On Tuesday morning, a group of four or five thieves broke in the watchmaker’s store armed with clubs and stole almost everything within, then covered their getaway by throwing petrol bombs — one at the corner with via Borgospesso, near a school.

A member of the police force told WWD that the group was well-organized, explaining that “everything happened in only a few minutes and they probably had some associates controlling the street.” Via Spiga, a luxury shopping street off Via Montenapoleone, was later cordoned off, teeming with police, and the windows of the store were badly bashed. An employee of the boutique was slightly injured, while the security agent who tried to stop the thieves was hospitalized with more serious wounds.

The value of the loot is still to be determined.
