A Fashion Crowd Turns Out for Christine Quinn Fund-raiser

The New York City mayoral candidate stopped by at the home of John Auerbach and Andrew Black on Monday night.

THE MIGHTY QUINN: A day after unveiling her candidacy for Mayor of New York City, Christine Quinn made a fund-raising stop before a fashion-heavy crowd at the home of John Auerbach and Andrew Black on Monday night. Quinn gave a short stump speech about affordable housing, her grandparents’ optimistic arrival in New York City and the positive impact gay and lesbian elected officials have on public policy, mingling with attendees before departing for an appearance on “Piers Morgan Live.”

In the art-filled loft were Prabal Gurung, Stacey Bendet Eisner, Nate Berkus, Gilt chairman Kevin Ryan, Trey Laird, Ann Dexter Jones, Robert Burke, Brooke and Michael Hainey and Akris U.S. chief executive officer Melissa Beste. Introducing Quinn, cohost Seth Weissman quipped that his parents were particularly elated about New York’s gay marriage law and that now “the pressure was on” for him and boyfriend Joseph Altuzarra.
