THE LAW MOVES SLOWLY: In a case stretching back to 2004, Gucci won a legal dispute with Prada earlier this week as the Court of Florence determined that Prada’s allegations of tortious interference were unfounded in Gucci’s 2001 acquisition of Italian footwear manufacturer Regain, a company based in Montegranaro.
In 2004, Prada filed suit against both Guccio Gucci and Gucci Group Italia Holding, asking for 25 million euros, or about $34 million at current exchange, in damages. Following its decision, the court determined that Prada must cover all litigation fees and expenses related to the case, which were not revealed.
