THE CELEBRATIONS GO ON: Queen Elizabeth II hosted Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic heroes at a Buckingham Palace reception on Tuesday night. The Queen was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge in welcoming athletes including heptathlete Jessica Ennis, cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, sailor Ben Ainslie and double-gold-medal-winning runner Mo Farah.

Kate was wearing a dress by Temperley London for the reception. During an exchange with Paralympic equestrian champion Lee Pearson, the duchess revealed she is learning to ride, so Pearson offered to give her some lessons. She also spent time with the 12 members of the women’s hockey team, and said how much she had enjoyed watching their games, having once played as a student.
