THE CAMBRIDGE CUT: Be prepared to see a lot more of the Duchess of Cambridge in the coming months. Kate Middleton is ready — after much research — to reveal the British charities of which she will be a patron. Today, St. James’ Palace plans to say that the duchess, who celebrates her 30th birthday on Monday, has chosen four charities: the National Portrait Gallery, Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and The Art Room, which offers art classes as therapy for troubled teens in London. She also plans to become a volunteer with the Scout Association, joining private activities with groups in north Wales and other areas.
“The duchess’ first patronages and her volunteer position reflect her…personal interests in the arts, the promotion of outdoor activity, and supporting people who are in need of all ages, especially young children,” St. James’s Palace said. “The duchess has chosen to support organizations that complement the charitable work already undertaken by her husband.”
