THE BRITISH ARE COMING: First Ladies Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron will likely be vying for the fashion spotlight as they promote the 2012 London Summer Olympics and a program to curb childhood obesity this week during British Prime Minister David Cameron’s official visit to the White House. The White House is rolling out the red carpet for the British head of state and his wife, who will arrive in the nation’s capital today. While the President takes Cameron to a first-round NCAA tournament basketball game in Dayton, Ohio, today, the First Ladies plan to attend an Olympic-themed event at American University in Washington with D.C.-area schoolchildren, in celebration of the 2012 London Summer Olympics and Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative. Several Olympians and Paralympians will join the First Ladies at the event. On Wednesday afternoon, the First Ladies will attend a ceremony at the White House before a state dinner that night. The First Ladies will speak to a group of students from Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School, a secondary school for girls in north London; Elizabeth Seton High School in Maryland, and National Cathedral School in Washington. Obama has a special connection to the EGA, which she visited in 2009, when she accompanied the President to London on their first official international trip together.
