FOR A CAUSE: Terry Lundgren was sweating last weekend, but it wasn’t just the heat. The chief executive officer of Macy’s led some 500 employees and friends along the Hudson River and through Battery Park City for the company’s first 5K run. The 3.1-mile foot race benefited Ronald McDonald House New York and was intended to also celebrate the retailer’s passion for fitness, healthy living and giving back.
The event raised $40,000 for the cause and counted Macy’s executives Jeff Gennette, Peter Sachse and Lundgren’s wife, Tina, as participants. Following the run/walk, there was a party at the finish line in Wagner Park, where Lundgren was joined by William T. Sullivan, president and ceo of Ronald McDonald House New York, presented trophies to the top three finishers and fund-raisers.
