FASHIONABLE HONORS: Queen Elizabeth II hands out her own version of Christmas presents each New Year’s in her annual Honors List, and once again a few members of Britain’s fashion industry get to add some honorary initials after their names. Among those tapped this time round are Anya Hindmarch and Nicky Kinnaird of Space NK, who were made Members of the Order of the British Empire, or MBE, while Hilary Riva, chief executive officer of the British Fashion Council, was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, or OBE — one rank above an MBE — as was Gail Sackloff, the former London-based merchandise director of Saks Fifth Avenue in Britain. Interior designer Kelly Hoppen was awarded an MBE for services to interior design, while actor Michael Sheen — who played David Frost in the film version of Peter Morgan’s “Frost/Nixon,” and Tony Blair in “The Queen,” — was given an OBE.
NO GO: Artemis, François Pinault’s investment holding company, is not looking to go on a selling spree. In response to rumors circulating in the British press that the firm is shopping around its tony Château Latour vineyard, as well as the Christie’s international auction house, an Artemis spokeswoman stated Tuesday that they are “totally unfounded and formally denied Artemis is involved in a process of transferring Château Latour or any of its strategic assets.”
