TALES OF WOMEN: Miu Miu is set to unveil the fourth chapter of its “Women’s Tales” short movie saga at the Venice Film Festival, which runs from Friday to Sept. 8.
Directed by Tehran, Iran-native Massy Tadjedin, “It’s Getting Late” celebrates the ritual of dressing up, showing four women — actresses Patricia Clarkson, Gemma Arterton, Rinko Kikuchi and Aubrey Plaza — getting ready for a night out at The Hotel Cafè club in Hollywood to attend a live performance from singer Zola Jesus.
The short movie will be screened, along with the previous episodes of the mini-movie saga, on Aug. 30 at Lido’s Sala Darsena, kicking off a three-day event organized by Miu Miu in collaboration with Venice Days, an independent film show promoting avant-garde cinema.
The event’s schedule includes meetings with the four “Women’s Tales” directors — Zoe Cassavetes, Lucrecia Martel, Giada Colagrande and Tadjedin — and panel discussions on women’s creativity with several cinema personalities, including film directors Liliana Cavani, Mira Nair and Susanne Bier.
