SXSW Takes Over Austin

Thousands upon thousands of music lovers hopscotched from the House of Vans to the Virgin Mobile House on East 8th Street.

Much like the seemingly boundless spin of Caitlin Moe's fringe when performing with Mia Moretti at the ASOS Music Lounge was the array of events that radially encompassed downtown Austin for this year's SXSW festival.

Thousands upon thousands of music lovers and the like hopscotched from the House of Vans on Red River Street to Viceland on East Cesar Chavez Street to the Virgin Mobile House on East 8th Street. Even Usher, who played a surprise show at the Fader Fort on Friday night, left a zigzagged track, stopping for lunch at Lamberts Downtown BBQ. Over a plate of brisket, Usher took in the sounds of Mike Love, a Hawaii native who came to play reggae for all the cowboy and girl transplants at SXSW.
