SWEET DAY: In celebration of Mother’s Day, contemporary designer Rebecca Taylor has teamed with New York’s Billy’s Bakery to design a capsule collection of limited edition cupcakes. The Vanilla Twinkle cupcake — made of yellow cake with blue vanilla butter cream and a sprinkle of white crystal sugar and silver candy dots — is inspired by a blue dot chiffon dress from the designer’s spring 2009 runway. The Mocha Meow cupcake — a chocolate cupcake with mocha-flavored butter cream topped with chocolate sprinkles — resembles the leopard-print pieces in the collection. “I have quite a sweet tooth,” the designer said of the collaboration. “I love baking at home with my family and creating a tasty treat for Mother’s Day felt natural. Billy’s has truly mastered the art of delicious baked goods, and we had a lot of fun translating some of our spring-summer looks into cupcakes.” The Rebecca Taylor Mother’s Day cupcakes are $2.75 each.
