Swarovski brought some sparkle to Milan with a glamorous event at Palazzo Reale on Tuesday night to present its winter 2012 collection.

Dancers and gymnasts twirled and pirouetted throughout four rooms decorated with artistic installations and suggestive plays of light. Special guest Naomi Campbell introduced a live performance by British pop star Mika, followed by a DJ- set by Sophie Ellis Bextor and Skin from Skunk Anansie.

The event drew a posse of designers, including Margherita Missoni, Beatrice Trussardi, Neil Barrett, Alessandro Dell’ Acqua, and Tommaso Aquilano e Roberto Rimondi, who were recently tapped to design Fay. “We have already started working on the line,” said Aquilano. “Our goal is to deliver products that combine design and wearability.” He also let slip that a “top-secret project” is in the cards for their own Aquilano.Rimondi resort collection.

English model Erin O’Connor, clad in a black Roberto Cavalli suit, gushed about the beauty of the location. “This palace is incredible,” she said. “I really like the decadent beauty that they created with exotic flowers and feathers.”

French actress Vahina Giocante, proudly showing an opulent necklace from the Austrian company paired with a sexy aquamarine Moschino dress, said she thinks “fashion and cinema are complementary and events like this are very important for both sectors. That’s why I flew to Milan just to attend this party.”
