SUNDAY BEST: The aptly named rock band Taking Back Sunday performed this past Sunday in the kids’ department of Macy’s Herald Square to mark the launch of the new DCoded kids’ brand. “Thanks for coming out on a Sunday afternoon. You all should be in church,” joked the band’s front man, Adam Lazzara, to the several hundred screaming teens and tweens — and some patient parents — assembled on the store’s seventh floor. The Long Island-based rockers performed for nearly an hour. Some attendees began lining up outside Macy’s at 6 a.m. in order to be among the first 100 purchasers of DCoded product and thus guaranteed an autograph and photo with the band. “Taking Back Sunday’s fan base is certainly our demographic,” said Gila Goodman, president and chief executive officer of Success Apparel, which is launching DCoded boys’ wear in more than 575 Macy’s doors this fall, with a young men’s collection coming in the spring.
