SUN EUROPEAN ACQUIRES BONMARCHE: Sun European Partners, the European adviser of private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc., purchased value chain Bonmarché last month in the U.K.-version of a prepackaged bankruptcy. About 160 Bonmarché stores will be closed, leaving 230 units in operation. The Peacock Group, which owned apparel chains Bonmarché and Peacocks, was trying to restructure its debt in December, but went into administration on Jan. 18 when those attempts failed. KPMG was named administrator and is currently weighing options for Peacocks. Sun European’s portfolio companies include Scotch & Soda, V&D, Lee Cooper, DBApparel, a 95 percent stake in Jacques Vert, and Irisa Group, formerly Alexon Group.
