For Heatherette’s Americana-themed collection, heiress Lydia Hearst, daughter of Patricia, and reformed porn starlet Jenna Jameson walked the runway in between grease-stained male models clad in swimsuits or denim.
Backstage, Heatherette’s Traver Rains said doing a show in Los Angeles was exhausting. “I seriously feel like I just had a baby. It’s hard being out here in L.A.—more leg work to make it even work. Rains’ partner Richie Rich agreed that prepping for the Smashbox Studios show was a bit much. “It was ridiculous.” Rich added that a Heatherette cosmetic line was coming out in February, while he himself was recording an album. “It’s a fashionable, poppy potpourri of fun, just like our show.”
FLOWER GIRL: “Heroes” star Kristen Bell sat front-row at the Elsie Katz show Monday night to support her stylist, Nicole Chavez, who styled the show. “It was bold, bright and beautiful,” said Bell, referring to the floral-inspired dresses but also the bright blue runway decorated with hyacinths. But Bell had another reason for showing up: Elsie Katz Couture designer Donna Baxter’s husband is KROQ-FM’s “Bean” of the morning talk show duo Kevin and Bean. “They are super-geeked out fans of mine and always show me crazy support,” she said. “They’ve woken me up for several live on-air phone calls.”
HALL PASS: Kevan Hall’s front row was the most star-studded so far at Smashbox Studios, with actors Eriq La Salle, Nia Long, Shari Belafonte, James Pickens Jr., Jessica Collins, Jennifer Beals, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Rebecca De Mornay showing their support, as well as Hall’s older brother Vondie Curtis-Hall. “Wow, that is beautiful,” gasped De Mornay as the desert print gowns floated down the runway. Despite the fact that she was dressed in head-to-toe black Diane von Furstenberg, she said, “I love all the colors.”
