STAFFING UP: J.Mendel has made a few key hires. Tara Hannert has joined the company as vice president of global communications, succeeding Jessica Nagel, who has relocated to Los Angeles. Hannert was previously director of public relations for Louis Vuitton North America. In her new role, she reports to chief executive officer Gilles Mendel and president and chief operating officer Susan Sokol.
Nagel, meanwhile, has joined Ashlee Margolis’ The A List and will head up its fashion division, which includes such clients as Coach, Madewell and Lacoste.
Back at J.Mendel, Kristin Elizabeth Knapp has taken on the role of vice president of e-commerce and digital marketing. She is overseeing the launch of J.Mendel’s e-commerce business and the redesign of its Web site, which will make its debut this fall. With 12 years of experience in the digital luxury arena including stints at Hermès and Bulgari, she most recently led Assouline’s digital efforts. Knapp reports to Sokol.
In addition, Rosanna Miniaci has been promoted to vice president of global wholesale from director of wholesale.
