Gymnast Nastia Liukin may have won a gold medal for all-around gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games but there is one event she's never tackled before Monday: Fashion Week.
The diminutive Texan made her debut at the Peter Som show, clad, appropriately, in a gold dress from the designer.
"It's such an honor to be here," she said, as she waited to take her seat next to actresses Elizabeth Banks and Kate Mara and fellow athlete Maria Sharapova. "I've never been to anything like this."
"It's so great to be able to experience this after the whole Olympic experience," she continued. As for getting inspiration for her own possible clothing line with GK, she said,"[My clothing line] is a little more casual, but it's still great to see different things."
