SMELL LIKE BECKHAM: Just like a good father with his children, David Beckham was careful not to choose a favorite fragrance from among the seven he has worked on with Coty Inc. at the launch of his latest, Homme, on Monday at Beverly Hills’ Thompson Hotel. “Every one’s my favorite,” he said deftly. “There’s not one that obviously I like more than the other one. Every time that we bring out a new fragrance, I don’t try to better the last one. I just try to make it different, and we’ve done that with this. This is something that’s fresh, that’s modern, but very masculine.” Beckham has been gamely plugging Homme, even recently going undercover at a Target store for “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Sept. 16, during which he prodded customers to smell the fragrance on his leg. On Monday, Beckham quipped, “It does smell better on your leg. I guarantee it.” Seriously, he added, “There’s a few places I put it. The neck’s the best one.” Although wife Victoria wasn’t at the launch event, Beckham was clear that she’d signed off on Homme. “I’m going to be wearing it a lot, so she needs to like it,” he noted.
