SING A SONG: It’s not every day that opera singer Danielle de Niese gives a private performance, but that’s what the soprano did last week at a dinner that followed cocktails attended by Terrence Howard, Lisalla Montenegro, Caroline Byron, and Kate Bosworth and her husband Michael Polish celebrating Van Cleef & Arpels’ expansion at shopping center South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, Calif. The expansion brings the store to 2,174 square feet and introduces a bridal salon to the West Coast after Alain Bernard, president and chief executive officer of Van Cleef & Arpels, The Americas, said a similar salon has been a success in New York.

For the reopening of the South Coast Plaza store, Van Cleef & Arpels unveiled eight limited-edition timepieces. Bernard said that the high jewelry brand has no additional major store renovations or openings in the U.S. planned for this year. “We believe in exclusivity. We want to keep it this way,” he stressed. Beyond South Coast Plaza, Van Cleef & Arpels has U.S. stores in New York, Short Hills, N.J., Manhasset, N.Y., Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, Fla., Bal Harbour, Fla., Naples, Fla., Boca Raton, Fla., and Chicago.
