SHANGHAI STYLE: Giorgio Armani and Chinese film director Jiang Wen teamed up for “Gone With the Bullets,” a new adventure movie set in Shanghai in the Twenties, and for a celebratory cocktail party Tuesday night in Cannes during the 67th annual Cannes Film Festival.

Working with art director William Chang, Armani provided costumes for lead characters played by Ge You, Shu Qi, Zhou Yun, Wang Zhiwen, Wen Zhang and director Wen himself.

“I am so pleased to cooperate with Jiang Wen, one of the most outstanding filmmakers and actors in China, on this movie,” said Armani, adding, “I have always been fascinated by the Eastern metropolis of Shanghai, for its unique style and charm, from the past to the future, connecting the East and the West.”

“Gone with the Bullets” is scheduled for release in China Dec. 18 and will reach international markets by January.

Armani has supplied costumes for a large variety of films, including, most recently, “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
