GETTING SYKED: Amid the throngs of Judith Leiber fans clamoring to buy one of the company’s signature pricy crystal flecked bags for $100 at the company’s Madison Avenue flagship on Thursday, Lucy Sykes Rellie made an appearance — and it won’t be her last. Sykes, the British socialite designer, has been named consulting fashion director of Judith Leiber. Company president Mary Gleason said it was the perfect evening to introduce Sykes, who designs children’s clothing under her own name and contributes to Cookie magazine. In 2008, the 46-year-old firm was acquired by Schottenstein Stores Corp., which owns a majority of Filene’s Basement and DSW Shoe Warehouse.
