ROYAL PATRONS: Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Child Bereavement UK offices in Buckinghamshire on Tuesday. The royal couple met with the staff, training and fundraising teams and involved members to learn more about the institution. The group which launched in 1994, aids children and adults who have suffered a loss in the family.
William became the royal patron of Child Bereavement in March 2009. A supporter of the association, he attended the launch of their Remember on Mother’s Day campaign and appeared at various functions tied to the charity. This will be his first visit to the main office. William arrived with Kate who wore a Goat coat over her Topshop dress.
“The Duke of Cambridge has been our Royal patron since March 2009. The Duke takes a keen interest in our work supporting bereaved families and training the many professionals working at the front line of bereavement support.” said Ann Chalmers, chief executive. “We are honored that The Duke and Duchess are making a visit to our charity offices in Buckinghamshire where they will see first-hand some of the groups we run with bereaved children, young people and parents. It has been a privilege to have The Duke of Cambridge lend his support to our work; his involvement has made a huge, positive difference to Child Bereavement UK.”
