ROYAL ROBBINS SOLD: Kellwood Co., which is owned by Sun Capital Partners, has sold Royal Robbins Inc. to private equity firm Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co. Terms of the transaction, including purchase price, were not disclosed.
Royal Robbins is an outdoor and travel apparel firm founded by Royal Robbins, a pioneer in American rock climbing. The Sage Group was the financial advisor to Kellwood.
Stephen Sherrill, cofounder and managing director at Bruckmann, said that the Royal Robbins team has “built a strong heritage brand by remaining true to outdoor and travel enthusiasts. The outdoor sector has been and will continue to be a key focus of [Bruckmann].”
