PIKE PIPES UP FOR L.K BENNETT: Rosamund Pike played hostess at Soho House West Hollywood on Thursday for an afternoon tea on behalf of L.K. Bennett, the British contemporary brand whose Spring/Summer 2013 campaign she is fronting. Her friends and fellow actresses Teri Hatcher, Radha Mitchell, Leven Rambin, Christa B. Allen, Poppy Delevingne, Sanaa Lathan, Zuleikha Robinson and Cara Santana all turned out for mini sandwiches and scones while previewing the Fall collection, which will soon be available in the British brand’s first West Coast store and seventh U.S. location, opening in the Beverly Center March 20. “I wanted the campaign to reflect my real connection with the brand,” said Pike, who modeled both the main line and Black Ribbon collections. “I wanted to feel part of it, rather than an add-on.” Indeed, the actress is taking a hands-on approach by designing a capsule collection of handbags debuting in July, her first fashion project. “Luckily in my day job I’m exposed to so many beautiful things. Normally I get to borrow things for one night only, but I like to keep and prize my bags for long periods of time. I felt like an editor, looking for the elements that I find missing in other bags. I love detail and I’m a stickler for proportion, and even the sound the purse makes when you open it and close it or pull the zipper.”
