ROOM SERVICE: No stranger to fast fashion, having collaborated with H&M in 2004, Karl Lagerfeld is now turning his hand to what might be dubbed fast furniture. The designer has photographed a special 10-page insert in the fall-winter catalogue of But, a French retail giant that’s part Ikea, part Best Buy. Lagerfeld selected furniture, lighting and objects to create several rooms that reflect his graphic, modern style and penchant for black and white. Elements include film-studio lamps for 120 euros, or $155 at current exchange; a wonky bookcase at 99 euros, or $128, and tufted PVC cubes for 29.90 euros, or $39. The catalogue will be available from Aug. 29.
