New York's Hotel Americano Adds Online Store

Through a new arrangement with L-atitude, guests can use iPads in their rooms to check out the hotel’s e-shop.

ROOM SERVICE: Fashionable out-of-towners have been crowding around Hotel Americano’s High Line-viewing rooftop pool for strawberry pisco sours, and now they can spruce up their wardrobes without leaving their hotel rooms. Through a new arrangement with the online store L-atitude, guests can use iPads in their rooms to check out the hotel’s e-shop. The-etailer teamed up with Mexican brands Caravana Montaecristo, Hide by Alejandro Alcocer, Dezso by Sara Beltran and Anndra Neen to showcase items with Latin flair. While HA-branded products are also available, Hotel Americano owner Carlos Couturier said the aim was to bring “an anti-Madison Avenue shopping experience. We believe in exposing local talent to a global crowd.”

Now that its alliance with Grupo Habita’s first Stateside property is under way, L-atitude founder Alisa Ng is partnering with other hotels so that their overnighters might also be able to surf for fashion without leaving their rooms.
