SEPTUAGENARIAN SERVICE: It looks as if Roger Markfield’s tenure at American Eagle Outfitters Inc. will carry into his 70s. According to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission Friday, the Pittsburgh-based teen retailer has given Markfield, its decidedly post-teenaged vice chairman and executive creative director, a new employment contract extending two years, to Feb. 1, 2014, and carrying a base annual salary of $950,000, a four-year consulting clause worth $6 million and cash and stock bonuses. Markfield, who was 69 when American Eagle filed its definitive proxy last April, will mark his 19th anniversary with the firm in May. He’s held his current post since 2009, been a director since 1999 and has variously served as co-chief executive officer, president and chief merchandising officer following shorter tenures with Macy’s Inc., Gap Inc. and Limited Brands Inc.
